## Responsibilities - Conduct research, teaching, course development, supervision, and examinations at various levels in linguistics, primarily in computational linguistics, but also other suitable teaching within the department's existing course offerings. - Participate in scientific, pedagogical, and administrative development work. - Actively engage in the department's research environment and conduct own research. - Teach courses in computational linguistics at undergraduate and graduate levels, including courses in computer systems, programming, machine learning, speech analysis, mathematics, statistics, corpus linguistics, language technology, thesis and project work, semantics, and an introductory course in linguistics. - Demonstrate pedagogical and scientific skills in linguistics with a focus on computational linguistics, machine learning, and large language models (LLMs). - Show breadth in both pedagogical and scientific skills, including the ability to teach within the department's course offerings and to drive interdisciplinary research projects. ## Requirements - Hold a relevant doctoral degree (e.g., in linguistics, computational linguistics, language technology, or computer science), or an equivalent foreign degree. - Documented scientific competence in computational linguistics, machine learning, and large language models (LLMs). - Documented pedagogical skills. - Ability to collaborate and the necessary skills and suitability to perform the job duties effectively. ## Nice to Have - Documented ability to teach a course offering relevant to the department. - Experience in applying for and receiving external research funding. - Experience in research and teaching in language technology and machine learning, including large language models. - Ability to collaborate with the surrounding society and inform about research and development work. - Documented interdisciplinary collaboration, preferably within one of the research areas conducted at the department. - Supervision at the doctoral level. - Documented administrative skills. - Proficiency in Swedish (or Norwegian or Danish) for collaboration within the department, faculty, university, and society. - Completed higher education pedagogical training (at least 15 ECTS) or equivalent knowledge acquired in another way. - Completed researcher supervision training. ## Benefits - The position is part of the university's career path ("tenure track") and is governed by the Higher Education Act (1993:100). - The position is initially for a limited period, up to four years, and may be extended for up to two years if special reasons exist. - The candidate may be promoted to the position of university lecturer after a successful evaluation. - The university promotes a workplace free from discrimination and offers equal rights and opportunities for all. - Contact information for the position is provided, including the head of the department and the subject responsible for computational linguistics. - The application process is conducted through the university's recruitment system, with instructions for submitting a complete application in English.
