## About the Role Do you want to help ensure that the railways of the future function safely and reliably, and work with safety-critical systems that affect thousands of people every day? We are now looking for a Development Test Engineer to join one of Sweden's most advanced technical fields. The railway industry is facing major investments and extensive technical development. We are looking for a Development Test Engineer who wants to verify software that controls everything from interlockings and switches to barriers and signaling systems – solutions that contribute daily to safer, more efficient, and more sustainable railway traffic. Here you get the opportunity to work with complex technical systems in an industry that plays a central role in the green transition. As a Development Test Engineer, you will become part of a team responsible for verification and testing of software within the railway's signaling systems. The team works with safety-critical systems where quality and reliability are crucial. The role is broad and combines technical analysis with the development of test environments and automated tests. ## Responsibilities You will work in an environment with simulators, communication interfaces, and internal test tools used to verify that complex railway systems function according to requirements and safety standards. You will have the opportunity to work with technology that makes a real difference. The railway industry is growing rapidly and plays a central role in future sustainable transport systems. You will work with large, complex, and society-critical systems where software, hardware, and automation interact. From trackside equipment and signaling systems to web interfaces and automated test platforms – the role offers unique breadth and fantastic development opportunities for those who want to build deep technical competence. Your tasks will include: * Getting familiar with the product's functionality and requirements * Analyzing requirements, documentation, and system behaviors * Investigating bug reports and supporting developers in troubleshooting * Participating in projects related to new or upgraded signaling systems and interlockings * Analyzing test results and identifying areas for improvement * Developing and maintaining test environments * Building and further developing automated tests * Writing and improving Python scripts * Working with Jenkins and test automation flows * Contributing to continuous improvements of the team's tools and processes ## Requirements We believe you are at the beginning of your career and have a strong technical interest. The most important thing is not that you know railways from before – but that you are curious, driven, and motivated to understand how complex systems work in depth. Requirements for the role: * Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering in fields such as Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Technical Physics, or Mechanical Engineering * Programming skills in Python * Experience with Unix environments * Interest in testing, verification, and troubleshooting * Ability to get up to speed with complex technical systems ## Nice to Have * Experience with Jenkins * Knowledge of test automation * Experience with Robot Framework * Knowledge of Docker or Kubernetes * Experience with scripting and automated test environments ## Benefits * **Employment Type:** This is a consulting assignment, meaning you will initially be employed by Friday.
