## About the role
Hey there — We're Draftbit! We are a growing startup looking for developers with typescript & react native experience to join our team.
We have multiple positions open: this one is for our an engineer on our experts team. *Please read this description and application instructions carefully; we only accept applications from candidates who follow our instructions. *
Draftbit offers two complimentary services to our customers: our platform and our expert services. Our Experts are full-time members of the Draftbit team who work directly with or alongside our customers to build part or all of their app for them. Draftbit experts use our platform alongside many other platforms as well as write custom javascript or typescript code.
In this role, you will be asked to:
- Become an expert user of the Draftbit platform and develop a well-rounded understanding of our app development platform.
- Build apps, screens in Draftbit as well as creating custom code functions, components, and libraries to support our customers goals. This custom code will be in Javascript or Typescript, leveraging React Native libraries.
- Help improve Draftbit by providing product and workflow improvements to the team, as well as reporting and troubleshooting bugs or issues that you find during your work.
- Write reports and documentation for the features you built, as well as explaining your work to other Draftbit team members as part of our QA process.
- Attend our daily standup at 10AM central and overlap with our team between 9AM-Noon Central time.
## ABOUT THE ROLE
We are hiring developers who understand Javascript / Typescript, React Native, and full stack development in general.
We leverage AI tools like Codex and Claude Code, but you will need to be able to write code yourself without these tools to qualify and this will be a big part of our screening process.
This is a full-time opportunity. You'll need to commit at least 40 hours per week to qualify, and you'll need those hours to be overlapping by at least 4 hours per day between 9AM-6PM US Central, including our 10AM Central US team standup every weekday. The rest of your hours can be earlier or later; we are flexible.
This is an ongoing role, not a specific project. This role involves a mix of building in draftbit, writing custom code or creating custom components, debugging custom code, writing docs for the work you create, and communicating with customers about your progress.
Most of the time you'll be working across Zoom with camera on, sending emails, and communicating in slack. To be successful, you'll need to have excellent and written communication skills, in English, and be able to converse and understand complex topics around mobile software development.
## YOU'RE A GOOD FIT IF
- You have a strong background in Javascript/Typescript, Web/Mobile App Development, React Native and Expo, and have built apps before using these tools.
- You've built mobile apps before that use a BaaS like Supabase, Xano, Backendl
