Postdoktor inom inferens för stora språkmodeller

## Responsibilities * Participate in the ambitious, 5-year Wallenberg Scholar project titled "Scalable and adaptive inferencing for democratizing AI" (18 million SEK), aiming to dramatically reduce costs and energy consumption for serving large language models like ChatGPT. * Design, implement, and evaluate distributed systems and networks for machine learning inference. * Apply machine learning concepts with the goal of designing agentic frameworks. * Collaborate with faculty members and several PhD students at the research lab on experimental system work. * Contribute to scientific publications and new grant applications. * Work in collaboration with Professor Dejan Kostic and University Lecturer Marco Chiesa. ## Requirements * **Education:** Completed doctoral degree or foreign degree assessed as equivalent to a doctoral degree. This requirement must be met by the time the employment decision is made. * **Background:** Solid background in distributed systems, networks, programming, and operating systems. * **Language:** Very good knowledge of English in both speech and writing, as it is required for daily work. * **Technical Skills:** Very good knowledge of C++, Python, Linux, and at least one scripting language. * **Soft Skills:** Very good critical thinking skills. * **Experience:** Highly motivated candidate with a willingness to experiment and explore, possessing international publications in journals and at top conferences. ## Nice to Have * **Recency:** No more than three years since the completion of the doctoral degree (or equivalent) by the final application date. * **Pedagogy:** Pedagogical ability. * **Diversity & Inclusion:** Awareness of diversity and equal treatment issues, with a special focus on gender equality. * **Work Style:** Good collaboration skills, but also the ability to work independently. * **Technical Experience:** Experience with machine learning, GPU programming, or large-scale inference systems. ## Benefits * **Employment Type:** Indefinite contract, however, maximum two years.
