Backend DevOps Engineer

## About the role As a DevOps Engineer at Aeyesafe, you'll play a critical role in enhancing our operations and engineering processes. You will be responsible for automating and optimizing our workflows, ensuring scalability and security of our applications, and facilitating the seamless deployment of new features. Your expertise with Kubernetes, Terraform, Jenkins, Bitbucket/Github, and Postgresql will be vital in driving our continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) initiatives. ## Key Responsibilities - Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Bitbucket/GitHub. - Deploy, manage, and operate scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on Kubernetes. - Use Terraform for infrastructure as code to safely and predictably create, change, and improve infrastructure. - Monitor system performance, configure alerts, and respond to incidents to ensure system reliability and availability. - Collaborate with development teams to integrate DevOps methodologies into their development cycle. - Automate processes where possible to improve efficiency and reduce manual overhead. - Maintain and ensure the security of our infrastructure and applications. - Manage and optimize Postgresql databases for performance and reliability. - Document operational procedures and infrastructure configurations. ## Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience. - Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering role. - Strong experience with container orchestration services, especially Kubernetes. - Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools, specifically Terraform. - Proficient in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, and familiar with both Bitbucket and GitHub. - Solid understanding of Postgresql database management. - Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python). - Understanding of network architecture and application development methodologies. - Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and network issues. - Excellent communication and teamwork skills. ## Nice to Have - Certifications in Kubernetes, Terraform, or cloud technologies. - Experience with cloud service providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). - Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
