## About the role We're looking for a hands-on CTO who can own vendorup's technical evolution end-to-end. This is not a purely strategic role — you will actively work with the codebase, guide architectural decisions, and lead the transition from our current Lovable-based platform into a scalable, long-term technical foundation. You will manage technical debt responsibly, and ensure continuity while we evolve the product. ## Responsibilities ### Platform & architecture - Take ownership of the current Lovable platform, ensuring stability, performance, and continuity - Lead legacy management: understand existing logic, flows, and constraints before evolving or refactoring - Define the long-term technical architecture (Supabase, APIs, services, permissions, scalability) - Decide what stays, what evolves, and what gets rebuilt — pragmatically, not dogmatically ### Product & execution - Work hands-on across the stack (frontend + backend) - Translate product strategy into technical execution - Partner closely with Product, Operations, and Design to ship usable features — not abstractions - Ensure data integrity, role-based access, workflows, and operational reliability ### Team leadership - Lead and mentor the existing engineering team - Set standards for code quality, documentation, and decision-making - Hire future engineers thoughtfully as the company scales ### Strategy & leadership - Act as a core member of the leadership team - Balance speed vs. quality in an early-stage environment - Make technical decisions that support scale, security, and long-term maintainability ## Requirements ### Must-haves - Strong full-stack experience (JavaScript / TypeScript) - Experience with modern web architectures (APIs, auth, permissions, databases) - Comfort working with low-code / no-code platforms (Lovable, Bubble, etc.) and knowing their limits - Experience managing or inheriting an existing platform (legacy ≠ bad, legacy = responsibility) - Startup mindset: pragmatic, calm under pressure, outcome-driven - Fluent Portuguese (team language) ### Nice-to-haves - Experience with Supabase, PostgreSQL, Stripe, or similar stacks - Background in marketplaces, SaaS, or operational platforms - Interest in AI-enabled workflows or automation ## What we offer - True technical ownership — you shape the platform, not just tickets - Build infrastructure for a massive, underserved industry - Work directly with the founder on product and strategy - Equity-based role with long-term upside - No corporate politics, no vanity roadmaps — just real problems ## About the company vendorup is building the Event Operations OS — the infrastructure layer for the global events industry. Events today are powered by fragmented tools, spreadsheets, emails, and manual workflows. vendorup replaces that chaos with a modular operating system that connects planners, vendors, agencies, and organizations across sourcing, operations, payments, and insights. We are early-stage, product-driven, and execution-focused — building real infrastructure for a complex, real-world industry.
