<p>Braze is looking for a pioneer to fill a highly strategic, hybrid role within our Japan team. As the <strong>AI Decisioning Lead,</strong> you will own the end-to-end AI lifecycle for our customers in Japan. This is a unique, multi-disciplinary role combining <strong>sales </strong>(supporting the sales team as a technical SME) and <strong>post-sales </strong>(facilitating the forward-deployed delivery of AI Decisioning to contracted customers).</p>
<p>You will be the ultimate subject matter expert on AI Decisioning capabilities, helping brands predict customer behavior, automate orchestration, and scale hyper-personalized engagement.&nbsp;</p>
<p>This role is scoped as an Individual Contributor role to start, but could grow into a management role as the Braze’s AI Decisioning business grows in Japan and APAC.</p>
<p><strong>Sales responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Visionary Pitching:</strong> Partner with the Sales Team to present and demo AI Decisioning capabilities and roadmap to prospective C-level executives (CMOs, CDOs, CTOs).</li>
<li><strong>Value Discovery:</strong> Conduct discovery workshops to identify top AI Decisioning use cases.</li>
<li><strong>AI Academy: </strong>Lead hands-on educational sessions with prospects and customers that give a strong understanding of current trends and applications of artificial intelligence in marketing.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Customer Readiness Assessment: Assist sales team in identifying and mitigating program risks (e.g., business case, tech stack) before deals are signed</strong></p>
<p><strong>Post-sales (forward-deployed) responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Adoption &amp; Optimization:</strong> Act as a dedicated AI Success Manager for high-value clients, ensuring they maximize and fully understand the value of their investment into AI Decisioning.</li>
<li><strong>Experimentation Design:</strong> Facilitate the technical setup of AI Decisioning fully aligns to business goals and internal best practices.</li>
<li><strong>Business Reviews:</strong> Analyze client campaign performance data to deliver strategic recommendations and insights, showcasing how AI Decisioning is driving incremental value.</li>
<li><strong>Technical Troubleshooting:</strong> Act as the technical bridge between Japan clients and global product/engineering teams for complex AI/ML anomalies.</li>
<li><strong>Data Architecture &amp; Integration:</strong> Work closely with client data teams to ensure clean data pipelines flow from Data Warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery) into Braze for AI modeling.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>WHO YOU ARE</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Experience:</strong> 5+ years of experience in a highly technical, enterprise client-facing role (e.g., Solutions Architect, Forward-Deployed Engineer, Technical Account Manager, or Data Consultant).</li>
<li><strong>Data Science Proficiency:</strong> Strong hands-on experience with SQL, Python/R, and latest AI tools for data analysis and machine learning.</li>
<li><strong>Statistical Knowledge:</strong> Strong understanding of machine learning concepts and how they apply to consumer marketing.</li>
<li><strong>MarTech Ecosystem:</strong> Deep understanding of the modern data stack and marketing ecosystem (CDPs, Data Warehouses like Snowflake/BigQuery, and CRM/Marketing Automation tools).</li>
<li><strong>Language Skills:</strong> <strong>Native/Fluent Japanese</strong> (for local client management) and Business-level English (to collaborate with global product teams and technical documentation).</li>
</ul>

<li><strong>Consultative Mindset:</strong> Proven ability to translate complex data science and AI jargon into clear, value-driven business language for non-technical stakeholders.</li>
<li><strong>Agility:</strong> A "builder" mentality—comfortable navigating ambiguity and defining a brand-new role in a fast-paced environment.</li>
