Principal Software Engineering Manager

## About the role - Partners with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a set of scenarios - Leads identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform - Leads by example and mentors others to produce extensible and maintainable code used across products - Leverages subject-matter expertise of cross-product features with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to drive multiple group's project plans, release plans, and work items - Holds accountability as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI), mentoring engineers across products/solutions, working on-call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions - Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale and shares knowledge with other engineers ## Requirements - More than 15 years of experience, including at least 10 years in technical roles involving large scale, web- based system development - Expertise in C/C++/Java, building and deploying SaaS applications - Masters or bachelor's in computer science or main-stream Engineering - Experience in building high-scale transactional and data platform backed systems from scratch - Comfortable with ambiguity, adaptability to evolving priorities, and the ability to lead a team while working autonomously - Proven management experience with highly diverse and global teams - Demonstrated ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders - An ability to think strategically, look around corners, and create a vision for the current quarter, the year, and five years down the road. A relentless pursuit of great customer experiences and continuous improvements to the product. ## Nice to have - Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, and Java - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, and Java - Equivalent experience - 4+ years people management experience - Understanding of data structures, algorithms, multi-threaded programming and distributed computing concepts - Expertise in building and deploying SaaS applications - Experience in building high-scale transactional and data platform backed systems from scratch and large scale, web- based system development
