Role Overview:
The Leibniz-Institut für Analytische Wissenschaften – ISAS – e. V. develops efficient analytical methods for health research, contributing to the improvement of prevention, early diagnosis, and therapy of diseases like cardiovascular diseases or cancer. The institute advances precision medicine by combining knowledge from biology, chemistry, computer science, medicine, pharmacology, and physics. ISAS is a member of the Leibniz Association and is publicly funded by the Federal Republic of Germany and its federal states.

This position is within the AMBIOM (Analysis of Microscopic BIOMedical images) Research Group.

Responsibilities:
- Developing large-scale microscopy image analysis pipeline for 3D microscopy images
- Developing computational framework for 3D shape modeling towards biological insights
- Developing AI-based representation learning framework for data-driven cell modeling
- Reporting findings and methods in conference and journal papers

Requirements and Qualifications:
- Masters, Diploma or equivalent degree in mathematics/statistics, IT/computer science, physics, computation biology, biomedical engineering or related scientific fields
- Experience with image analysis, or computer vision
- Good knowledge of basic machine learning techniques, such as variational autoencoder
- Good presentation and writing skills
- Proactive, independent, and solution-oriented way of working
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
- Good knowledge of biology is a plus
- Publications at top-tier computer vision conference or journals is a plus
