Job Overview We are looking for a talented and motivated AI/ML Engineer to join the R&D team of eBOS Technologies in Nicosia, Cyprus. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, development, validation, and integration of advanced AI/ML solutions primarily within the context of EU co-funded research and innovation projects. The role places strong emphasis on applied AI, moving beyond theoretical research towards practical integration into robust, scalable, and production-ready software systems. As part of a multidisciplinary R&D environment, you will work closely with AI/ML engineers, software developers, electronics engineers, system architects, and project managers to transform research outcomes into intelligent software functionalities that address real-world needs. You will be involved across the full innovation lifecycle, from feasibility analysis, data preparation, model design, prototyping, testing, optimisation, and validation, through to integration into operational platforms. Duties and Responsibilities The AI/ML Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, testing, validation, and integration of AI/ML algorithms and models into software systems developed either under EU co-funded R&D projects or as part of the company’s portfolio of digital solutions. The successful candidate will also contribute to the preparation of technical documentation related to the developed AI/ML components. Key responsibilities include: Conduct feasibility analyses for the integration of AI/ML functionalities into software systems. Research, design, and develop AI/ML algorithms and models tailored to specific project and system requirements. Design, curate, manage, and preprocess datasets required for the systematic training, testing, validation, and optimisation of AI/ML models. Collaborate closely with R&D software developers to integrate AI/ML components into software applications, platforms, and operational environments. Support the testing, evaluation, optimisation, and performance validation of developed AI/ML models. Contribute to R&D activities, including technical meetings, project workshops, teleconferences, training activities, project deliverables, and proposal preparation, as required. Prepare and maintain clear, structured, and accurate technical documentation for developed AI/ML solutions, ensuring traceability, reproducibility, and technical consistency. Skills and Knowledge Requirements Postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Machine Learning, or another ICT-related discipline. A PhD is considered an advantage. Excellent proficiency in Python for AI/ML development. Proven knowledge and research experience in AI/ML techniques, including supervised learning, unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning, neural networks, optimisation methods, and related computational approaches. Minimum 2 years of proven post studies industrial working experience in the design and development of AI/ML models and algorithms. Experience in industrial R&D projects, EU-funded projects, or applied research environments is considered an advantage. Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks, tools, and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, NumPy, Pandas, or equivalent technologies. Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes, is considered an advantage. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Knowledge of Greek is considered an advantage. Strong analytical thinking, organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Ability to manage multiple tasks, contribute to technical discussions, and deliver high-quality work within agreed timelines.
