Payment Services Provider Manager

The PSP Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing the Payment Service Provider (PSP) ecosystem across Asia. The role focuses on provider relationships, commercial negotiations, onboarding strategy, operational performance, routing optimization, settlement coordination, and expansion of payment coverage across the region. The PSP Manager acts as the primary operational and commercial point of contact between external providers and internal departments, ensuring stable payment operations, competitive commercial terms, efficient integrations, and scalable payment infrastructure aligned with business growth objectives. This position combines strategic provider management with operational oversight, performance analysis, and cross-functional coordination across Payments, Finance, Product, Development, C Key Responsibilities: Manage and expand PSP network (sourcing, onboarding, integrations) Lead negotiations (rates, fees, settlements, terms) Define and optimize routing strategies based on performance and cost Monitor provider performance and ensure reliability Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with payment providers Align PSP strategy with regional and business needs Handle complex and high-risk cases, finding solutions where others fail PSP Relationship Management Own and manage relationships with Payment Service Providers (PSPs), acquirers, banks, and payment partners across Asia. Act as the primary point of contact for provider communication, escalations, operational matters, and commercial discussions. Coordinate provider-side issue resolution, maintenance communication, and escalation handling. PSP Sourcing & Expansion Identify, evaluate, and onboard new PSPs, payment methods, and banking partners across Asia markets. Build and manage the PSP pipeline based on regional business needs, market gaps, operational risks, and strategic priorities. Work closely with internal stakeholders to assess provider suitability, operational readiness, compliance requirements, and technical feasibility. Support regional payment expansion initiatives and improve payment method coverage across Asia. Commercial Management & Cost Optimization Lead commercial discussions and negotiations with providers, including fees, settlement terms, FX costs, reserves, and operational conditions. Identify opportunities for payment cost reduction and operational efficiency improvements. Monitor provider profitability, commercial performance, settlement structures, and processing costs. Collaborate with Finance teams on settlements, reconciliation processes, provider performance reviews, and routing optimization initiatives. Support initiatives aimed at reducing operational expenses and improving payment margins. Performance Monitoring & Reporting Monitor provider performance, transaction stability, success rates, processing times, and operational KPIs. Analyze provider trends, routing efficiency, downtime impact, and transaction behavior across markets. Prepare operational and commercial reports related to PSP performance, payment costs, provider utilization, and optimization opportunities. Contribute to BI reporting initiatives and payment performance dashboards. Integration & Project Coordination Coordinate PSP integrations, migrations, feature implementations, and payment-related projects with Product and Development teams. Support prioritization of provider integrations and operational payment initiatives. Participate in payment project planning, operational validation, rollout coordination, and testing activities. Ensure providers meet operational, technical, and business requirements before go-live. Routing & Operational Optimization Support optimization of routing strategies, provider allocation, and transaction distribution across Asia markets. Work closely with Operations and Finance teams to improve payment reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency. Identify operational risks, single points of failure, and provider dependencies, and propose mitigation strategies. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to payment infrastructure and provider operations. Cross-Department Coordination Coordinate closely with Payments Operations, Product, Development, Finance, Compliance, Back Office, and regional business teams. Ensure alignment between operational priorities, commercial objectives, and technical implementation timelines. Support management decision-making by providing operational and commercial insights related to payment providers and market conditions. Requirements Proven, hands-on experience working with PSPs, EMIs, or banks Strong understanding of payment ecosystems, PSPs, acquiring, banking operations, and fintech infrastructure. Experience in PSP management, payment operations, business development, fintech, or financial services is considered a strong advantage. Strong negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to manage multiple providers, projects, and operational priorities simultaneously. Strong commercial awareness and operational problem-solving mentality. Comfortable working with payment data, reporting tools, operational metrics, and provider analytics. Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills. Proactive mindset with strong ownership and accountability mentality.
