## Responsibilities * You work closely with our customers to understand their challenges, solve issues during critical escalations, and teach best practices. * You, acting as the "voice of the customer", bring learnings to the engineering process to design new features and plan end-to-end test scenarios. By shaping the direction of the Aurora Database services, you make it easier to understand how our service is used by customers, including database developers and administrators. * You will actively drive feature enhancements, permanently resolve the root causes of issues, and improve the performance of our managed database service. * You will contribute to automation solutions to improve the operational efficiency of the entire database service. * You are viewed as the ultimate subject matter expertise for all things databases as your work will be highly sought by the development team, the support team, the field teams, and customers directly. * You will interact with the open-source community via forums, conferences and feature or bug-fix code submissions. ## Requirements * 5+ Knowledge of concepts like system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, system analysis, statistical analysis, reliability analysis, and decision making * 5+ years of relational database technology (such as Redshift, Oracle, MySQL or MS SQL) experience * 5+ Experience troubleshooting skills at all levels, from application to network to host * 3+ Experience in operations of highly available and scalable internet systems with a large customer base * 3+ Knowledge of the primary AWS services such as EC2, ELB, RDS, VPC, Route53, and S3 ## Nice to Have * 3+ years experience of a modern programming language (Ruby, Java, Python, or C#) * 3+ years of experience consulting, working with multiple different applications and workloads ## Benefits Diverse Experiences AWS values diverse experiences.
