Software Development Manager, Network Capacity Services

## Responsibilities - Lead a team of engineers to build foundational network services that form a core part of the Software Defined Networking (SDN) ecosystem. - Design and own a closed-loop system for the reservation of network entities associated with procurement activities. - Bridge network engineering and software engineering disciplines to solve real-world problems. - Build large-scale distributed software systems in Java, Python, and other languages using open-source technologies like Apache, Celery, Redis, HTTP/REST services, etc. - Collaborate with people across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for customers. - Experience in leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services. - Experience in engineering team management. - Experience in partnering with product and program management teams. ## Requirements - Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations. - Experience in engineering. - Experience in leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services. - Experience in engineering team management. - Experience in partnering with product and program management teams. ## Nice to Have - Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy. - Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers. ## Benefits - Inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion. - Mentorship & Career Growth opportunities. - Work/Life Balance with flexibility as part of the working culture. - Access to employee-led affinity groups fostering a culture of inclusion. - Ongoing events and learning experiences including Conversations on Race and Ethnicity (CORE) and AmazeCon (gender diversity) conferences.
