Systems Development Engineer

## Responsibilities - Deliver industry-best security services by raising the security bar for Amazon’s products and services. - Work on complex security challenges including access control design patterns, identity security services, authorization, authentication, and life cycle management. - Support the security of Amazon’s global retail sites and foundational security services like EC2, S3, and others. - Collaborate with EU-based Operations and Software Development teams to ensure secure by default services. - Participate in a 24/7/365 on-call rotation, with on-call support required approximately once every 4–6 weeks. - Design and deploy security features, automate fixes for operational issues, and use Amazon Security services to solve design problems. - Engage in a fast-paced environment with a focus on work-life balance and flexible scheduling. ## Requirements - Must be a national of an EU member state. - Strong software development skills with a passion for solving security hurdles in innovative ways. - Experience in building highly scalable and available systems on a global scale. - Creative problem-solving abilities and a desire to learn and challenge the status quo. - Ability to work in a global team with a culture of learning from each other. - Willingness to be part of a 24/7/365 on-call rotation. ## Nice to Have - Diverse background and experience in areas such as cloud, devices, retail, entertainment, healthcare, operations, and physical stores. - Passion for delivering solutions that improve both user experience and security. - Experience with security technologies and operational support of security software. ## Benefits - Relocation support for successful applicants within the European Union. - Flexible schedule to maintain a productive and balanced life. - Opportunities for career growth, mentorship, and knowledge-sharing. - Inclusive team culture with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion. - Work-life harmony and a supportive environment for personal and professional development.
