## Responsibilities * Design, develop and support high throughput, highly available, distributed, multi-tenant, cloud native systems. * Produce bullet-proof code that is robust, efficient and maintainable; our primary languages are Java and Rust. * Leading development and maintenance of key system features for Amazon OpenSearch Service * Designing and building scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems * Work on challenging problems in areas such as data ingestion, auto-scaling, data storage, search optimization and query optimization, security, machine learning and more. * Identify and advocate for operational improvements, reducing maintenance and development cost * Join a great group of motivated, top-notch people and work with them to solve challenging problems in a fun, collaborative environment ## Requirements * 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience * 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience * Experience programming with at least one software programming language * Working with other team members to investigate design approaches, prototype solutions, and validate them through testing * Working in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high quality software in a fast paced environment ## Nice to Have * 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience * Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent ## Benefits Work/Life Balance We value work-life harmony.
