## Responsibilities
- Hire, develop, and retain a team of strong software engineers — setting a high bar for technical talent and creating an environment where engineers grow.
- Own the technical vision and roadmap for the advertiser context center, translating business needs and science requirements into a clear engineering plan.
- Drive architectural decisions for high-throughput, low-latency context services that power AI agents at scale.
- Partner with Applied Scientists, Product Managers, and cross-functional leaders to align engineering delivery with business priorities.
- Ensure operational excellence across the team's services — setting standards for reliability, monitoring, incident response, and on-call practices.
- Remove blockers, manage dependencies across teams, and maintain delivery velocity in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment.
- Represent the team's work to senior leadership through clear written and verbal communication (documents, business reviews, roadmap narratives).
- Foster a culture of ownership, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
## Requirements
- 5+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- Experience delivering products against plan in a fast-paced, multi-disciplined, distributed-responsibility and often ambiguous environment
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
## Nice to Have
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
- MBA, or 5+ years of working with Data & AI related technologies, including, but not limited to, AI/ML, GenAI, Analytics, Database, and/or Storage experience
- Experience managing and deploying ML products
- Experience dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering measurable results in an agile environment
- Strong written communication skills (Amazon's writing culture — narratives, PR/FAQs, operational documents)
