Responsibilities
Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of electrical and mechanical engineers and designers, providing coaching, mentorship, performance management, and career development. Own engineering execution for custom-engineered and standard products, ensuring delivery is on time, within scope, and meets quality standards. Provide technical oversight and decision-making authority for switchgears, control panels, and electrical distribution products. Ensure customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and applicable engineering standards are fully understood and incorporated into designs. Partner with the Plant Manager and cross-functional teams to align engineering priorities with business objectives and production capacity. Establish and maintain engineering best practices, standard work, design guidelines, and documentation processes to improve efficiency, quality, and scalability. Assist New Product Development (NPD) initiatives with technical reviews and support. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, design standardization, manufacturability, and lead time reduction. Lead the resolution of complex technical, quality, and field issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions. Oversee development and maintenance of test plans, validation procedures, and design verification activities. Support customer engagements, including technical reviews, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and issue resolution. Manage departmental workload, priorities, and resource allocation to meet operational and strategic objectives. Ensure compliance with internal processes, safety requirements, and applicable engineering standards and codes. Define, track, and communicate key performance metrics to business leaders and cross-functional teams.
